The film released on 20 September 2006. The film producer Nagendra Babu won for Nandi Special Jury Award.[5] The film was also dubbed and released into Tamil under the same title, and remade into Hindi as Jai Ho in 2014. The core plot of the movie was reported to be based on the 2000 movie Pay It Forward.[6]
Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde starrer superhit movie 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo,' which was released in 2020, broke many records at the box office. Now, in an interesting piece of news, the Hindi dubbed version of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo will be out on YouTube soon. Yes, you read that right!

I don't know the > name of the film but the song was picturised on Radha Ravi and the > song was "poove en poove.."."Poove sempoove un vaasam varum" (K.J.Yesudas) is from "SollaThudikudhu Manasu" (Karthik). Only redeeming factor in the movie wasthis song, which appeared, thankfully, at several places. Chitra alsohad her own version of this song I think. Illayaraja reused the songin the Telugu film "Prema"?Chitra was introduced in the Tamil film "Poove Poochudavaa" (85;music: Illayaraja), when the original Malayalam movie "NokkethaDhoorathu Kannum Nattu" (1984; music: Jerry) was being remade inTamil. After this movie director Faazil, actress Nadiya and singerChitra did well for themselves in Tamil films. Chitra was alreadysinging in Malayalam movies before that. The songs of the Tamilversion were a rage - "chinna kuil paadum paatu kekkudha, ku ku ku kukoo.."In Hindi, she probably started singing in "Love" (Salman, Revathi)(the only difference between the flop "Love" and original hit "Prema"was in the climax). Chitra sang in another Salman starrer "Jaagruti",which had the nice song "hawaa mein kya hain, khushboo hain" (forKarishma Kapoor). Both had music by Anand-Milind.Later she sang again for Karishma in the movie "Suhaag" (Ajay Devgan). The song was "tere liye jaanam tere liye", which was based on "kaadhalrojaave" (from "Roja"; A.R.Rahman); again by Anand-Milind. On a relatednote, another interesting lift of Anand-Milind from Rahman was in aJackie Shroff movie. The lifted song was "raasathi en usuru" (from"Thiruda Thiruda") - something that ARR himself did not attempt in"Chor Chor"! Anand-Milind made Yesudas sing the Hindi version withnormal orchestration.Chitra sang another lifted song (from Illayaraja) for Anu Malik in therecent "Viraasat" - "paayalein chun mun chun mun" with Kumar Sanu. She regularly sings in Rahman's Hindi films - Roja, Bombay, Rangeela,Tu Hi Mera Dil, Love Birds, Sapnay, Kabhi Na Kabhi etc.---Renu Thamma wrote: > > This brings up a topic that I have wanted to discuss for a long > time. The song "yekaantha velai" (eekantha vela) had a greatpicturization to go with the song. The song "chilakaga palukavo" youmention, I guess, is the heavenly "keeravaani, iraviley, kanavileypaada vaa nee." > > 'Sitara' was the next in line. The "ku ku ku" song's picturization on Banupriyaagain, like the "yekaantha velai" song, shows you the Illayaraja-Vamsee magic. Illayaraja made the tune of "vennello godaari andam"(S.Janaki) initially for a Bharathiraja movie, but it was never usedin it. The original was also sung by S Janaki "doorathil naan kanda unmugam, nadi theerathil.."---Balaji (bal...@2kweb.net) wrote: > 1. Anand-Milind borrowed from theTelugu version in "Laadla" (songs like "ladki hai kya, re baaba").The Tamil movie "Mannan" (Rajnikanth) was the remake of "GharanaMogudu" - not the songs though. Illayaraja created that divine solo"amma endr azhaikaadha uyir illaiye, ammavai vanangaadhu uyarv_illaiye"in Yesudas's voice.--byesatish
And 'porapaatu idi' which is an interesting song. The movie is againstrange :) --- something about a tailor looking for some gal with adistinctive birthmark, right? Where does Vamsee get these storylines.. ?More movies come to mind ---Marana Mridangam --- something tells me this is a Chiranjeevi movie. Hasthe very sweet 'karigipoyaanu karpoora veena ga'. Has some other verymediocre songs though.Indrudu Chadrudu --- (dubbed into Tamil as Indiran Chandiran right?).Starred Kamal and then current rage Vijayashanti (of Eeshwar fame). Irememember 'sandhya raagaku sarigamalu' and the lullaby that the olderKamal sings just before he is killed.. Didn't Raja do a bunch of Chiranjeevi movies in the mid 80s? There was onewith Radha and Vijayashanti, but I can't remember the name .. umm.. ahh!Kondaveeti Donga! :) Wasn't that a Raja movie? And 'Kaidi # 786' with'guvva guvvalamma'? :)One more question. The song that shows up in Vansh --- aake teri baahonmein, sounds extremely Raja'ish but is not from the original AgniNakshatram. Its in place of 'vaa vaa anbe anbe' ('neeve amaraswarame' inTelugu), but its not the same tune. Then what is the original to 'aaketeri...' ? Renu.
I think Satish has the chronology right. From what I remember GharanaMogudu came first, it was remade in tamiz and after it's succesful run,Mannan was dubbed in Telugu and had a decent run.>While on the topic of Tamil-Telugu songs, who gave the music for>Apoorvasagodhargal? How about Michael Madhana Kama Rajan (Michael >Madhana Kama Raju, in Telugu)? The latter was certainly IR. Can someone >list the songs of this movie.Aboorva Sagotharagal and Michael Madana Kama Rajan were both by Ilayaraja. Remember SPB winning an award for 'unnai ninaichen paattu padichen' fromAboorva sagotharagal.Songs from Michael Madana Kama Rajan:kathai kezhu kathai kezhu - Ilayarajarambambam arambam - SPB,?vachalum vakkama ponalum - Malaysia,Janakisundari neeyum sundaran - Kamal, Janaki (Kamal and Urvasi on the screen)sivarathiri thookkkam Ethu - SPB, Janaki>What about that Revathi-Kamal starrer -- it had a song that went >"something-something-pazhaga ... maraka manam something illaiye :)" >[sorry, I'm really bad at this :)] sung in a very folky and grating >style by Kamal himself (it also had a Janaki version). Nice song. This one is 'inji idupazhaga' - a small Janaki solo and then a Kamal-Janakiduet. Another folky song from the movie,Thevar Magan, 'potri paadai ponne' wasrecycled in Virasat.Kesavkesa...@umich.edu
I only remember one song from this movie which I like immensely ---Sundari neevu sundari nyaanum (mixing Tamil-telugu here). : Idhran-Chandhran (was that the Tamil equivalent of Indrudu Chandrudu): also had IR as the MD. It had an IR solo also -- 'nacchina bed-duWhich is the solo from this movie that the Mayor sings with his grandkidjust before he is killed? I think that is a IR solo too..
